Oroville Salmon Festival Saturday September 25 and 26

 | Comments Off

I understand the Salmon Festival was a smashing success here in town. I was unable to attend as I was with my nephew rewiring my 1957 Chevy Bel Air. If you were able to go I hope you enjoyed yourself. I did.

Best fish in town

Hi there,

I said that cause you’re there and I’m here.
Haha
Nevermind.

Anyway I went to lunch today at the Gold City Grill on Oro Dam Blvd and had the Panko breaded 3 piece fish plate with salad and blue cheese. Sure beats beer batter that holds in the grease/oil. If you like white fish go treat yourself and enjoy the great service and fish there.
Smiles.
ps–if you know of another restaurant that has great fish locally please let me know. Thanx.

Barbie Q

 | Comments Off

I woke up this morning to the news in the bay area. A  lady psychologist was talking about how hard it is for young girls to grow up in this country because Barbie has Perfect Hair, Perfect Skin, Perfect Body and in so many words            I thought she insinuated they should be pulled off the shelves because young girls feel bad if they can’t be like and cannot compete with Perfect Barbie……..my daughter never felt like that—maybe that happens if you don’t spank them as children when they are bad and you decide to give them a time out instead–who thought that one up—I remember that movie that came out when I was a kid—It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World!!!

I thought to myself–it’s just a doll lady–and I think you are in the wrong job.

What’s next? Ken dolls, army men?  Gotta love people.  No wonder why I moved out of the bay area to here to live in the hills.

Happy Thursday.

Attention Home/Property Owners in the LOAPUD SEWER District. LOAPUD has Temporarily put on hold Implementing their Mandated Ordinance NO. 1-09

These July 14, 2009  minutes were hand typed by me as I could not copy/paste from the PDF file.
Here is the direct link for you to see for yourself what they say.
The August minutes are not posted yet.

COMPREHENSIVE SEWER RULES AND REGULATIONS ORDINANCE NO. 1-09

Manager Brown reiterated the Board adopted the Comprehensive Sewer Rules And Regulations Ordinance NO. 1-09 in May 2009. Since then, Manager Brown has met With the local realtors and escrow title representatives to discuss the implementation of The Ordinance.   Manager Brown stated based on the feedback received he would Recommend postponing the publishing of the Ordinance for a reasonable amount of time To provide a window for the effected parties to develop the District’s policy into Their business plan.  After discussion it was moved by Director Ball and seconded by Director Dennis To suspend the implementation of Ordinance NO. 1-09           The motion  passed with a
majority affirmative vote.             The results were as follows:

AYES; President Fraser, Director Ball, Dennis and Onken
                                       ABSENT: Director Kiely

It sounds to me like they are being considerate and giving us time to prepare for the Point Of Sale (Point of Sale means when a home is being sold and goes into escrow it will then be mandated by LOAPUD that the seller pay for a test to determine if the sewer line is leaking–which means the seller will probably have to hire a contractor to test the line. If it fails the test, it will then have to be dug up and replaced at a cost to the seller which could be $5,000 or $10,000 or more depending on the length of the line from the house to the sewer.  It has the potential to hold up the sale or stop a sale if it is a short sale.
If you own a home or property in the LOAPUD Sewer District—This Will Affect You.
It is just a matter of how and when the testing will be done.
More to follow soon:
